|Event Introduction||This two day programme is designed for managers with over two years’ experience in a management role who wish to refine their leadership and management skills. During this two day programme managers will be able to develop the skills they need to lead at this level, whilst getting to grips with their own role and gaining business knowledge and confidence.
The course aims to combine knowledge and competency based learning whilst building and developing new skills to enhance their management career.
This course is delivered by a colleague commissioned by Kingston HR service and is open to AfC managers and managers in partner agencies. The course is part of a programme of leadership courses. We recommend colleagues work through the courses sequentially: Preparing for Management, Aspiring to Leadership, Introduction to Management and Developing your Leadership Style.
|Event Content||Critical to AfCs future success is the development of a strong and consistent leadership culture that drives the business forward, sets out and sustains challenging performance targets and builds a high achieving and engaged workforce.
This programme is offered to managers who have experience in a management role and who wish to develop their effectiveness of their personal style. It comprises two one day workshops, and includes psychometrics and 360 feedback. There is also an opportunity to work towards a management qualification accredited by the prestigious Chartered Management Institute (additional costs may apply). Delegates will have the option to work towards a Chartered Management Institute level 5 Award in Management and Leadership. Delegates will be required to complete an assignment and the facilitator will make sure that delegates wishing to take the Award are fully briefed on what they need to do to complete it.
This course will be interactive and engaging and a perfect refresher or next step for more experienced managers. On completion of the course managers will have a better understanding of leadership and how to develop their leadership style. Not only will this programme compliment the delegates ‘management toolbox’, the course will ensure that employers are also able to benefit from this investment. Employers will have new managers with the competence and confidence to develop and perform in their roles, whilst promoting a culture of organisational learning and development amongst the workforce.
