Attachment: An Introduction - Level 1
Attachment theory is one of the key theories and approaches which offers a way of thinking about the development of children and young people. It is widely used across child and adolescent mental health services, children's services, and increasingly, in adult mental health as well. Impact of Parental Mental Health (EVENT FULL)
Mental illness affects around 25% of the adult population at some point in their lives, and is more common among those with dependent children. Although this does not necessarily mean a parent will have difficulty meeting their child’s needs, for some there will be a need for targeted intervention (e.g. from Early Help Services) or specialist intervention under the Children Act 1989.
This course will develop a practitioner’s ability to assess and meet the needs of children in families where parental mental illness is a feature. This training is delivered by a consultant trainer with experi ...

Using positive reinforcement and basic strategies to help the child believe in his/herself provides them with the skills to cope with difficult situations they might face.
This course is relevant for everyone who works with children and who would like to learn more about what is useful in supporting the development of children’s ability to ‘bounce back’. Resilience is important to build ‘assets’ as to reduce risk factors that could i ...
