eLearning: Nutrition and Healthy Eating

By teaching children healthy eating habits, and modelling these behaviours, you can help children maintain a healthy weight and normal growth. Also, the eating habits your children pick up when they are young will help them maintain a healthy lifestyle when they are adults.
Nutrition and Healthy Eating is aimed at nursery practitioners including cooks and chefs, as everyone has a responsibility to support the health and wellbeing of children they care for.

Lunch and Learn Session: Serious Case Review (Windsor and Maidenhead)

This is a one hour session on every Friday for all Windsor and Maidenhead AFC Staff to come together, share best practice, and refresh knowledge.

In Achieving for Children we think it is really important that teams and services are able to meet up regularly. What sets this concept apart from other courses is the accessibility and less framed structure of this approach.

The lunch and learn session are important, not just to share a level of expertise but they enable two way, regular communications among employees from different parts of AFC. With practitioner attendance we will be able t ...

The needs of practitioners working in children’s services are continually changing. Staff are working in a fast changing business climate with unprecedented challenges, tight finances and customers with increasing expectations. It is therefore important to provide opportunities for staff to develop their skills and knowledge in a wide range of areas to ensure success in delivering the ...

Attachment: An Introduction - Level 1

Attachment theory is one of the key theories and approaches which offers a way of thinking about the development of children and young people. It is widely used across child and adolescent mental health services, children's services, and increasingly, in adult mental health as well. It is concerned with the ways in which a child's experiences of early relationships and their environment impact upon them psychologically, and how these processes may develop and alter across the lifespan.

This series of three courses will focus upon how an improved understanding of attachment strategies can in ...
