Introduction to ADHD – Level 1

This course will enable practitioners working with children and young people and/or their families to increase their understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The course will provide an overview of what ADHD is and the impact it has upon school and home life. By the end of the day practitioners will have the essential skills and knowledge to better support children and their families locally.

ADHD is thought to affect 2–5% of school-age children and young people in the UK (NICE, 2018).

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is a complex autism spectrum condition characterised by high anxiety and a need to be in control.
