The removal of national curriculum levels has afforded schools great freedom to assess pupils using their chosen methodology, beyond the statutory assessment points. These meetings aim to develop consistency of judgement in teacher assessment and to provide a benchmark for writing midway through KS2.

Getting to grips with the Education Inspection Framework

Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework came into effect in September 2019. The aim of the framework is to refocus inspections of schools to make sure that learners receive a high-quality education, through the school’s rich curriculum offer.

Developing Leadership in Reading

The teaching of reading has developed over the last twenty years, with considerable research and changes in the national education landscape, alongside ever changing social and cultural needs for reading. Developing Guided Reading in Reception and Year 1
