Designated Teacher Forum for Looked After Children Network Meeting - Kingston

Nationally, looked after children (LAC) continue to have poorer educational outcomes than non looked after children. All maintained schools have a statutory responsibility to appoint a Designated Teacher (DT) for looked after children to promote the educational achievement for this vulnerable group of learners.

It is the responsibility of the DT to take the lead within the school and disseminate information to school staff to champion the needs of all looked after children on roll.
