SPARK BAME Achievement Network Meeting

The BAME Achievement Network meeting is an opportunity for class teachers, TAs, EAL and inclusion leads to meet, share ideas and good practice about the best ways to teach our pupils from Black and other minority ethnic communities, many of whom also have English as an Additional Language. SPARK All-age SENCo Network Briefings

'All children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) should be able to reach their full potential in school. They should also be supported to make a successful transition into adulthood, whether into employment, further or higher education or training' (DfE, 2014).

The SEN code of Practice (2014) states that ‘legally, a child or young person is defined as having SEN if he or she has a learning difficulty that calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her’ (DfE, 2014). All schools are statutorily required to have a named SENCo.

SPARK Assessment Leader Network

Assessment is at the heart of an effective curriculum and is a fundamental part of good teaching and learning. It enables learners to recognise achievement and make progress, and teachers to shape and adapt their teaching to individual needs and aspirations. This is a network meeting for primary school Assessment Leaders from Richmond and Kingston schools.
