|Event Introduction||Specialist resourced provisions and ESTAs (Enhanced Specialist Teaching Arrangement) that support pupils with significant special educational needs within mainstream schools.
This meeting is a termly opportunity for Teachers in charge or lead practitioners of specialist provisions in Richmond or Kingston, to meet, share ideas and practice, and keep up to date with current issues regarding national and local initiatives. Other staff from specialist provisions are welcome to attend if the agenda seems appropriate. Teachers in charge have the opportunity to contribute to agendas and regularly share examples of effective practice. Regular events through the year include assessment moderation, good practice slots and local and national updates regarding SEN and disability legislation and local area and school Ofsted.
Meetings are hosted in schools to encourage sharing of practice and increase local understanding and knowledge of provisions. The meeting is facilitated by Sarah Herbert (Lead education advisor SEND).
|Event Content||These borough specific network meetings are hosted termly and are an opportunity for colleagues to meet together to discuss areas of need, share effective practice, identify ways in which they can work together and contribute to local consultations.
The networks are a great opportunity to ensure that delegates’ knowledge is current and up to date on national guidance such as the Ofsted Framework, The SEN code of Practice and local initiatives including the Achieving for Children Local Offer and developing understanding of best practice.
The agenda for each session will be circulated a week before the meeting and school colleagues are encouraged to make suggestions about agenda items. The sessions will be interactive and reflective with opportunities for practitioners to lead parts of the session.

• Describe the latest local and national strategies and information
• Identify and share good practice
• Cascade information from best practice with colleagues in school
• Contribute to local decision making through formal and informal consultations
