How to Refer to the Single Point of Access (SPA) and Early Help (EH) Services (Windsor and Maidenhead)

Event/course Code SFVSS 19/124
Event/course type Training course / Workshop
Event Introduction Following the Children’s Services Information Workshops, held in April 2019, this session was developed to support partner agencies with referrals to the SPA and Early Help services.

Staff from a variety of agencies and partners are invited to attend this one hour training session and will have the opportunity to share knowledge and information about our Early Help offers with their colleagues. The session will cover what good referrals look like and how that links with our Signs of Safety practice framework.

The session is ideal for colleagues who are involved in decision making regarding referrals to SPA for safeguarding concerns and/or Early Help support.
Event Content This is a brilliant opportunity to colleagues to hear first hand about how the SPA operates and what local referral pathways are. Following the previous workshop in April, colleagues requested further sessions to explore these themes in greater detail. As a consequence the service will run a number of these workshops and the content will cover:

• How to make a SPA referral
• Thresholds for referrals
• 'Working together’ 2018
• Early Help service forms
• Role of Early Help coordinator
• Role of team around the child/families meeting

Significantly this session will look at good examples of all the Early Help paperwork and will support colleagues from partner agencies to understand the process and timescales.

The training sessions will be an opportunity for colleagues from partner agencies across education, health and the police to ask questions about referrals to SPA, clarify roles and responsibilities and develop good working relationships with all colleagues.

The sessions will be facilitated by Assistant Team Manager in the SPA Team and the Early Help Team Manager.
Event Learning Outcomes By the end of the session attendees will be able to:
