|Event Introduction||Starting a new job in a new organisation is a daunting and sometimes a difficult task. Learning about your own role, the people you work with, the organisation and even the unwritten office rules all make for a challenging time. The Achieving for Children (AfC) induction programme is key in helping you find your feet, give you confidence and help you to make your mark in your new role.
AfC is passionate about the services that we deliver and the colleagues that we employ to deliver those services. We are very pleased to welcome all new staff into the organisation and hope that you will have a long and fulfilling career with is.
|Event Content||Your induction programme is comprised of support from your team and manager, elearning and three face to face events;
1) Induction Welcome, to attend within first month
2) Getting Connected, to attend after 3 months in post
3) Meet & Greet, to attend after 6 months in post
All new permanent starters are expected to attend all three events as this linked with probation, you will be booked onto these events by the Organisational Development Team.
The Achieving for Children (AfC) Induction Welcome event is a half day session, that gives all new starters to AfC an opportunity to get an overview of AfC, put context to where you work and understand the sources of support offered by the company.
It will be an interesting and interactive morning covering a selection of topics including the senior leadership team, health and safety, professional development and HR procedures. New starters with have an opportunity to find out what it is like to work for AfC and network with other new and existing colleagues. You will also be introduced to the AfC key behaviours and how Signs of Safety is being implemented across the company.

|Event Learning Outcomes||AfC colleagues attending this session will be able to;
- Demonstrate an increased awareness of how, when and why AfC was created
- Evidence a greater knowledge of many of AfC’s sites/buildings and demographic information
- Exhibit understanding of who is who in the senior leadership team
- Return to places of work with a wider network of contacts within AfC
