|Event Introduction||The Signs of Safety model is a tool intended to help practitioners with risk assessment and safety planning in child protection cases. Created by Andrew Turnell and Steve Edwards in Western Australia during the 1990s, Signs of Safety is now used in at least 12 different countries across Australasia, North America and Europe.
AfC will be implementing Signs of Safety across the entire workforce and through the child's journey from the Single Point of Access through to adoption. The way in which Child Protection Conferences are conducted will change to embrace the ethos of Signs of Safety. These Mock Conferences will be provide you with a great insight into how the change conferences will look in the future.

It is strongly recommended that you attend these workshops if you are a regular contributor to conferences. There are dates available every quarter.
|Event Learning Outcomes||The workshop is relevant to all social workers and partners who regularly attend Child Protection Conferences and will provide the opportunity for everyone to practice the approach before attending a live Child Protection Conference with parents/carers and children and young people.
